Kundalini Yoga is a dynamic form of yoga that uses breath and movement to align the chakras, energize the body, strengthen the immune system, and balance the glands.
Classes use mantra, movement, meditation, music, and the sound of the gong to produce transformation and relaxation. A meditation or movement with mantra is also part of the class. Every class ends with an extended relaxation while the teacher plays the gong. Yogis use the gong to create an acoustically unique sound to clear the mind, heal the body, and elevate the spirit.
Kundalini is the spiritual energy of awareness which is activated and channeled through yoga and meditation. Kundalini Yoga is taught in specific sequences of exercises (kriyas) that create optimum health and a heightened level of awareness. This form of yoga ws first brought to the western world by Yogi Bhajan in 1969.
